Lights by the Lake, the last two nights

Lanterns lit along the water at Jurong Lake Gardens for Lights by the Lake

The lantern displays run to 4 October, so these are the last two nights. How does CDA co-matching work?

Table of the SG Child Support Package: a S$10,000 Baby Gift, a S$5,000 CDA First Step Grant, S$5,000 of CDA co-matching, S$32,000 in Child Credits and a S$10,000 PSEA top-up, adding to S$62,000.
Figures: MSF, via strategygroup.gov.sg, read 7 September 2026.

The Child Development Account is your child's account under Baby Bonus. Whatever you deposit, the government matches dollar for dollar, up to a cap that rises with birth order. It is run by the Ministry of Social and Family Development, and the child has to be a Singapore Citizen.

For a child born from 14 February 2023, the cap is S$4,000 for a first child, S$7,000 for a second, S$9,000 for a third or fourth, and S$15,000 for a fifth or later child. Counted together with the First Step grant, that is S$9,000, S$12,000, S$19,000 and S$25,000 of government money in the account.

There is no separate application. The account is opened as part of Baby Bonus enrolment, at your own bank — POSB/DBS, OCBC or UOB — once enrolment triggers the notification; there is no single government portal for it. What is in the account can pay childcare and kindergarten fees directly, by GIRO or NETS, at a Baby Bonus Approved Institution.

The dates. The match window closes on 15 December of the year your child turns 12, not on their birthday — a deposit after that date goes to the PSEA instead of being matched. If the cap is not used up by then it is not lost: the rest can still be matched into the PSEA before your child turns 18, which almost no parent realises. The cap itself is also changing. These caps run to 31 March 2027; a child born from 1 April 2027 has a flat S$5,000 cap at every birth order under the SG Child Support Package, and children already on the older caps move to S$5,000 on 1 October 2027, with 30 September 2027 the last day to use headroom above it.
